Description
Four framed pictures/photographs, various sizes, showing minor signs of age and use. The "Coppa d'oro Mussolini" was an international equestrian competition held in Italy. The German show jumping team won the trophy (and the tournament)—donated by Head of State Benito Mussolini—three times between 1931 and 1933. Three of the images bear the handwritten signature of Rudolf Freiherr von Waldenfels, who headed the show jumping stable at the Hanover Cavalry School (Reichswehr). Freiherr von Waldenfels was later awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and served as commander of the 6th Panzer Division. He held the rank of Lieutenant General (Generalleutnant) at the end of his service in the Wehrmacht. A very rare and interesting collection.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
