Description
Portrait in a black uniform, wearing the early-style cap featuring the first pattern of the cap eagle. Photograph dimensions: 23 x 17 cm; mounted on light-colored cardstock (partially darkened), with slight staining and adhesive residue on the reverse. Overall dimensions: 36.5 x 30 cm. Bruno Galke joined the NSDAP in 1932 and the SS in 1933; he was appointed Untersturmführer in January 1935 and promoted to Obersturmbannführer just three months later, subsequently holding leadership positions in both the Personal Staff of the Reichsführer-SS and the SS Main Office. In January 1936, he became one of four partners in the Allach Porcelain Manufactory and joined its supervisory board alongside Karl Diebitsch. He attained the rank of Standartenführer in 1940 but fell out of favor with Himmler in early 1941 and was conscripted for military service. An extremely rare portrait photograph—especially in this size—of one of the founding members of the PMA.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
