Description
Top made of fine dark blue wool cloth; ponceau-red band and piping; both cockades of the officer pattern; black patent leather visor; watered light-grey silk lining (detached from the rim along half its circumference) bearing the manufacturer's mark "L.H. Berger Collani & Co."; cream-colored leather sweatband (torn). Included are two similar examples (sweatbands torn). Also included—as a collector's reproduction—is a blue-and-red field cap for enlisted men (minor repair stitching). Scattered small moth holes, repairs, depot stamps, and signs of wear and age.350929
