Description

Oil on wood, varnished. Depicts the Crown Prince in the uniform coat of a Field Marshal, wearing the Pour le Mérite order around his neck. Signed and dated “P.W. Kiederich '84” at the left edge. Image dimensions 24.5 x 20.5 cm; in a gilded wooden frame, dimensions 29 x 25 cm. Paul Wilhelm Kiederich (1842–1921) followed in the footsteps of his father, Paul Joseph, as a portrait painter of the Düsseldorf School.
