Description

Slender blade with flattened central ridge, upper half with gilt decorative etching (partially worn), maker's mark “A. Franz Würzburg” on the ricasso. Gilt guard (distorted) with relief decor, lion's head pommel and a recumbent lion on the crossguard. Nacre grips with applied crown cartouche. Non-matching, too short leather scabbard (shortened?) with gilt mountings (The scabbard is too short and does not belong to the epee). Overall length ca. 94 cm.

The auction starts on Tuesday, November 24, 2026 at 10 am (CET) with Lot no. 6001 - 7079 and continues on Wednesday, November 25 at 10 am (CET) with Lot no. 7080 - 7502. The pre-sale view will take place from November 9 - November 13, 2026 in our auction rooms at Bretonischer Ring 3 in 85630 Grasbrunn / Munich from 11 am to 5 pm (CET).
