Description
Sturdy black-lacquered leather helmet body (abrasion in places), non-ferrous metal fittings (traces of gilding). Embossed Bavarian lion emblem beneath a crown. Cruciform base plate (gilding refreshed) with four round heads, rigid smooth spike. Convex, leather-lined chin-scales on the sculpted lion heads; on the left, the finely embossed Bavarian officers' cockade with a crown. Black leather lining (with missing sections); inside the body, a paper label from the "Militär-Effecten Fabrik von A. Bergmaier, Munich". Partially slightly damaged, with signs of wear and age.
