Description

Flat-sided octagonal-to-round barrel, smooth bore, Cal. 17.5 mm. Several markings around the chamber area. The top tang marked “M 1820”. Lockplate with proof mark. Ring hammer. Converted percussion lock with strong main spring. Walnut three-quarter stock with brass furniture and iron reinforcement band. Butt cap marked “1867”. The lock side somewhat indistinctly stamped. Hinged iron ramrod. Length 36 cm. According to U. Vollmer: Deutsche Militär-Handfeuerwaffen (Vol. 9, No. 7b) pistol M 1821/44 UM.
