Description
Cal. .44-40WCF, SN. 28668, barrel length 20", the bore partially frosted. From the early days of production in 1868. Two-line maker's mark with patents on the barrel. Brass frame. Bluing on steel parts worn, patinated and with fine pitting in places. The two toggle links in the receiver possibly replacement parts. Walnut stock with signs of wear and scorch marks on both sides of the brass buttplate.
