Description

One-piece skull, at the crown eight cut decorative rivets and an acanthus ornament in brass. The pointed, two-part peak with turned border and likewise cut rivets attached, adjustable nasal bar with retaining screw. Suspended leather-lined cheek pieces covered with a brass fitting, one of which secured with wire. Riveted neck guard sliding on five lames with turned border, the individual lames curved. All parts set with elaborately cut rivets. Surface patinated, stained and lightly pitted in places. Height circa 30 cm.
