Description

Wooden ten-spoked wheel, the hub reinforced with two sturdy iron bands. The running surface without iron band. A slightly curved blade attached on one side with long nails. Wheel diameter circa 70 cm. In the execution method of breaking on the wheel, the condemned's arms and legs were broken multiple times by the executioner using a wheel. The wheels were frequently fitted with iron striking edges to break the bones more quickly.
