Description

Slightly curved back blade with long engraved calligraphic cartouches on both sides on a fine punched ground. Dated on the flat “1287” (=1870). Fine cut zigzag front on the blade's back. Ferrule and grip band in gilt brass filigree with stone settings (partially restored), the grip band with corall mounted. Scales in walrus ivory, one broken in two places. Wooden scabbard encased in nickel silver sheet with florally relief-decorated decor. Chape and locket modernly finished in gold paint. Length 80 cm.
