Description

A precise, life-size cast of the so-called ‘sacrificial bearer’ from the State Museums in Berlin, which is a masterpiece of Archaic Greek small-scale bronze sculpture and an exact counterpart to a second such figure found in the Heraion of Samos in 1912, bearing the dedicatory inscription ‘Smikros’. Mounted on a stone plinth. Height without plinth: 28.5 cm. Height with plinth: 30.8 cm. The stone plinth has a small chip just before a crack. The bronze copy is completely intact. A high-quality copy of an ‘iconic example’ of Greek Archaic art.
