Description

Kovcheg, tempera on gesso on wood, background and border stripped, nimbus gilded. Large-scale depiction of the Saint. In his left hand he holds the closed Gospels, his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing. Wood panel reinforced. Probably formerly a double-sided painted processional icon. Upper right corner chipped. Upper border restored. Painting with overpaintings. Dimensions 49 x 41 cm.
