Description
Silver, cast, hammered, engraved. The interior gilt, the exterior partially gilt. Circular base with hammered foliage frieze and flaring rim, extending up with flutes into the cylindrical body. The casing of the body with a lavishly hammered scene, showing Moses striking water from the rock with his staff at God's command for the thirsty people of Israel. The domed, hinged lid chased with fruit. Split thumb rest in the shape of a berry. Curved handles with raised foliage. The base and lid with Tremolierstrich, hallmark, year mark "1739AS" and master's mark "PS" in Cyrillic. The rim of the lid slightly undulating. The body scratched in one place.
