Seven flight logs from 17 August 1936 to 4 February 1944 with 2,622 confirmed flights, 168 of which were combat flights and 31 front flights (until 8 August 1942). His service is very well presented in 15 photograph albums with over 2,300 photos, beginning in 1935 with his service with the RAD, accompanied by the Hauptmann's copious handwritten notes. The photos show: Hitler visiting the unit, German and foreign aircraft, Heinrich Himmler's visit, impressions of the campaigns in Poland, France and Russia, pictures from the front, destroyed buildings and vehicles as well as downed aircraft, aerial photographs, good-quality shots of a Knight's Cross presentation ceremony by Generaloberst Kellner, additional photographs of Knight's Cross bearers and generals of the Luftwaffe, sea rescue squadrons (boats) in action, Mörbitz receiving his German Cross from Gruppenkommandeur Major Wolff and many other interesting images. Moreover, four signed books belonging to Mörbitz. An unparalleled, extremely substantial photograph collection. Hauptmann Karl Mörbitz served in Reconnaissance Group 123, having graduated from Luftkriegsschule III Dresden.
