Orders and Military Collectibles from 1919 onwards | A108r | Live auction | 1467 Lots
Description
Lightly used winter version of the Luftwaffe pilot/aircrew so-called “Kanalhose”. These trousers were designed to allow aircrews to carry various necessary survival items such as a flare pistol, signal flares, rescue knife, emergency rations, signal flag and other equipment in case of emergency landing or ditching. Originally introduced during the period of the Battle of Britain, they were later used on all fronts where the Luftwaffe operated. This example is manufactured from sheepskin, representing the winter variant, with the regular cloth construction used for the pockets as seen on the standard versions of these trousers. Manufacturer label present inside with RBNr and dated 1945. All zippers (Ri-Ri) and buttons are present and in good working condition. The pocket on the left leg has been removed. Otherwise, a lightly used example in good collectible condition.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
