Description

Standard dating from circa 1938. The banner cloth made of white silk with silver aluminium weave fringes on the side borders. On both sides, the Iron Cross with the national eagle hand-embroidered in the centre, a swastika in each of the four corners. The perforations of the mounting nails still visible on the heading, a few small holes and one larger defect at the top left near the swastika. „INF Regimental banner” handwritten on the standard by the US soldier who originally seized the flag. Showing traces of age and use.
