Award document for the Totenkopfring of the SS, awarded on 27 February 1943, hand-signed by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, the paper without a watermark (late award), with accompanying letter from SS Führungshauptamt IIa Berlin, dated 24 November 1944. Award document for the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939, 22 June 1941, signed by SS Gruppenführer Theodor Eicke. Award document for the War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords, 20 April 1943, signed by SS Oberführer Karl Hermann. Possession document for the SA sports badge in bronze, 5 February 1941, with passport photograph in SS-TK uniform. Award documents for the Wound Badge in Black and Silver, Eastern Front Medal, Infantry Assault Badge in Bronze, Sudetenland medal, "Prague Castle" bar for the Sudetenland medal, War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords and three Reichsberufswettkampf badges. Promotion documents to SS Obersturmführer on 7 September 1942 and to SS Hauptsturmführer on 9 November 1944, both signed by SS Obergruppenführer Maximilian von Herff (one document with watermark). The estate comprises 369 photographs, mostly taken during his years of service with the SS and the Hitler Youth. They include SS portraits, photographs of the Olympic Games, award ceremony, a visit by two famous women to the SS units, training, photographs from the front and propaganda pictures. Numerous pre-1945 documents, such as his SS personnel record and several letters from the SS Race and Settlement Main Office regarding his marriage. Moreover, a great many post-war documents, addressed to a denazification tribunal from internment camp 74 (Ludwigsburg). Walter Frank objected to his classification as a "principal culprit" (Group I). Hauptsturmführer Walter Frank served in SS Totenkopfstandarte "Oberbayern" and SS Panzergrenadier Regiment "Deutschland", attended the SS Junkerschule in Bad Tölz. He was active in the Hitlerjugend as Oberjungzugführer until 1938. The numerous documents and photographs provide clear evidence of his career. An extremely rare, unparalleled estate.
