Cholm Shield, iron on a field-grey cloth backing, the counter plate also magnetic, all three split pins in place. Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, manufacturer "L/14", zinc. Wound Badge in Silver, manufacturer "26", zinc. Wound Badge in Black, manufacturer "L/56", iron. Eastern Front Medal with associated ribbon bar, manufacturer "13", zinc. Guard badge of the USSR on screw disc attachment. Award document for the Cholm Shield, issued on 31 October 1942, the no. "1970" and initials "RH" of the calligrapher on the back, signed by Generalmajor Theodor Scherer. Award documents for the Winter Battle in the East Medal, Infantry Assault Badge in Silver, Wound Badge in Black and Silver. Army pay book with passport photograph on the first page, issued on 4 March 1941, promotions up to Marine-Obergefreiter, all five orders entered on page 22, including the Cholm Shield. All pages complete, some loose, however, as well as the cover. Eleven contemporary photographs, subject is wearing the sleeve shield in six. Deutsches Reich workbook, German Red Cross identity card, the passport photograph lost, five documents, four of which post-1945, some relating to his captivity. Complete estate, consigned directly from private ownership. Extremely rare find. The Cholm Shield was awarded approximately 5,500 times.
