Description

The sash badge movably attached to the square imperial crown with raised, embossed pendants, gilt and enameled, the reverses of the oak branches also embossed. On its original sewn sash with rosette. Width approx. 75 mm. A convex, eight-pointed breast star of partially gilt silver with applied enameled insignia is also present. The reverse bears the maker's medallion "JOHANN SCHWERDTNER WIEN" and a bulbous, curved vertical pin. Width approx. 92 mm, weight 92 g. In a gold-embossed red presentation case (minor water damage, the black velvet insert has been restored/replaced, hinge strap torn) with a hinged black velvet insert. The white lid lining bears the gold maker's mark "Joh. Schwerdtner / Wien / VI. Mariahilferstrasse 47". Both unmarked and with minor enamel damage or older repairs.
