Description

Straight, hexagonal thrusting blade, both sides of the upper half lavishly etched with tendrils and trophies, the Solingen manufacturer's stamp „W.K & C” below a king's head and knight's helmet struck at the root. Heavy knuckle-bow hilt in gilt non-ferrous metal with eagle's head pommel, the Prussian eagle („FWR”) below the royal crown on the guard plate, smooth mother-of-pearl grip scales. Steel scabbard with old layer of white lacquer (craquelure, several areas of retouching) and gilt brass mountings (retaining screw of the chape is missing). Attached silver sword knot interwoven in black (darkened). Marginally damaged in places, signs of age and wear. Length 93 cm. In fine condition.
