Privately purchased item. Nickel-plated, single-edged blade with double fullers on both sides and a double-edged central point. Lavishly etched on both sides, the gilt inscription „Cür.-Reg. Kaiser Nikolaus I v. Rußland (Brdbg.) No. 6" on a blued background on the obverse and a gilt military manoeuvre scene on the other side. Knuckle-bow hilt in non-ferrous metal with three obverse guard bars, the grip with black leather cover (losses), intact finger strap. Black lacquered steel scabbard (abraded, traces of rust) with a movable suspension ring. The blade somewhat notched, otherwise in fine condition. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age and wear. Length 111 cm. Extremely rare edged weapon carried by a high-ranking Prussian cavalry regiment.Condition: II - Questions about the lot?
