Silver-plated mitre plate (tarnished) with lavish relief decoration, including the Prussian eagle and Semper Talis banner. Red cap bag (the bottom seam at the base partly open) with white cloth braid (darkened, torn), the woollen pompon inserted at the top, on button 91, the old chinscales well replaced. Black leather liner (scuffed) with an old wearer's label reading „Hoboist Messerschmidt Leib-Compagnie". Some damage, signs of age. Rare head gear, worn by an elite unit. The Prussian king was the commander of the regiment. The unit held the highest rank within the army.Condition: II - III Questions about the lot?
