Description
Dull grey, lacquered iron corpus (minor dents, abrading and light traces of rust here and there), the front and rear visors in sheet iron. Double screw-mounted eagle emblem („FJI") in embossed, dull grey lacquered sheet iron (one nut is missing). The comb in dull grey lacquered, non-magnetic metal, the side panels with a lion and serpent motif in fine relief on a grained background (the top of the comb dented). Multi-part laurel chinscales in non-magnetic metal (black velvet underlay) on lion head rosettes with protective bars (side forks). A vacant drill hole (old, approx. 3 mm) above the rosettes on each side of the corpus. Fine, smooth silk lining in yellowish green (detached from the sweatband at the front, slightly stained, small holes here and there), brown leather sweatband (occasional minor cracks). Slightly damaged in places, signs of age and wear. Extremely rare helmet in good condition overall, from the beginning of World War I.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
