Cover made of distinctive, madder red Egalisierung cloth (minor losses to the fabric), gilt metal fittings. Black lacquered peak with silver gilt embroidery, silver gilt distinction border (darkened), silver gilt cord interwoven in black, scale bands with velvet underlay (the delicate leather buckle strap torn) made of individual links in the shape of laurel leaves on lion's heads rosettes with side forks. The double-headed eagle emblem with regiment number „6" on the front, black horsehair plume (rose „FJI" incomplete), gilt armoured chin chains on lion's head mounts. Lined in beautiful, high-quality beige silk, brown leather sweatband. Body warped at the back (the lacquer layer partially rubbed off), the square top bent forward at the neck. Damaged in places, signs of wear and age. Can easily be improved by restoration. A rare find.Provenance: Consigned directly from the family estate.
