A sword with a slightly curved pommel and a narrow, trapezoidal guard featuring gently curved, sloping shoulders and holes for six rivets, three on each side (four of which are preserved). The pommel and guard are edged with sharp-edged ridges that curve outward in a fishtail shape at the upper end of the pommel. Above the tang, a broad, spade-shaped extension. In the center of the tang, five rivet holes with two preserved rivets. The blade, lens-shaped in cross-section and partly nearly rhombic, has edges set back by a step. The edges of the steps curve outward on the hilt toward the lower rivet hole. The blade is slightly indented below the guard and bulges toward the lower third, with the center of gravity in the lower third, which clearly indicates the character of a cutting sword. The surface shows partial light corrosion marks and spalling; in particular, the upper part of the blade and the hilt exhibit oxide deposits and incrustations. Minor nicks along the cutting edges. Lower part of the blade slightly bent due to pressure. At 60.2 cm in length, the sword falls at the lower end of the known length spectrum.
