Description

The circular, flat convex domed disc in thin sheet bronze with a conical, solid cast knob in the centre. Concentric zones on the surface composed of punched dots, circular ornaments, zigzags and rhombic patterns. Four sets of perforations on the edge, arranged in pairs, to attach it to a base. Beautiful, glossy green patina with scattered oxide deposits. The conical finial cast separately and the sheet disc clamped at the top and bottom. Individual cracks stabilised on the back by means of gauze soaked in synthetic resin. Diameter approx. 36 cm. Overall, an awe-inspiring, lavishly decorated object from the Villanovan culture, the original material completely preserved. Diameter 36 cm Height approx. 11 cm. CULTURAL ASSET.
