Description

Bronze eye intended for attachment to a mummy. Elegantly curved contours with raised edges, a rounded pupil in the center, and the white of the eye inlaid with alabaster. Surface shows slight oxidation and sintering. Intact except for two small cracks in the alabaster inlays. Length 6.9 cm. CULTURAL ASSET!

Provenance: Ostdeutscher Privatbesitz (Nachlass im Berliner Raum), erworben 2014 in Augsburger Galerie, zuvor schweizer Privatsammlung. Rechnung aus dem Jahr 2014 vorhanden.
