Description

Rectangular casket of sheet iron with riveted reinforcement straps, arranged crosswise. A false keyhole on the front, the large, sliding cover chased in sheet iron in the shape of the double-headed national eagle. Two hasps with loops for padlocks. A movable carrying handle on each side. The hinged lid with a central keyhole. Concealed lock mechanism with ten latches, two of which incomplete. Replacement hollow shank key, the mechanism functional. Lavishly openworked iron cover plate underlaid with sheet brass. Central coat of arms cartouche with the year 1708, flanked by two lions. Lockable inner drawer with original hollow shank key. The interior of the casket lined with old red lead. On a wrought iron stand, the finely forged scrolling bands with inset connections in places. Size 90 x 50 x 50 cm, weight approx. 60 kg. Attention: Self-collection or please get a shipping quote prior to bidding!
