Description

Rectangular chest made of sheet iron with cross-riveted reinforcing bands. A dummy lock on the front, flanked by two drop bolts with attached 19th-century padlocks. Two movable carrying handles on the sides. Lid with a central keyhole and a hinged cover plate. Elaborate lock mechanism with ten moving tumblers. Dome-shaped lock case with intact interior and original iron hollow-pin key. Some fastening rivets of the mechanism are loose; in need of restoration. Body has repair marks on the back. Dimensions 40 x 80 x 44 cm. Self-collection or please get a shipping quote prior to bidding!
