Description
Octagonal, after balusters round and smooth-bore barrels with silver front sight. Slightly chiseled flint locks, either lock plate signed "LINDENSCHMITT A MAYENCE". Carved walnut full stock with fire gilt brass furniture decorated with a relief of figures and flowers. Wooden (slightly shortened) ramrod with brass tip. In front of the left lock a small shrinkage crack, fore-end with two small repairs, barrels slightly pitted. Length 49 cm. Elegant pistol with beautiful fittings. Wilhelm Lindenschmitt, 1734 - 1802, moved to Mainz in 1771. Court gunsmith of the Prince-Elector Josef von Ehrthal, followed the Prince-Electoral Court to Aschaffenburg in 1799.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
