Round barrel with offset midrib and surface-mounted brass sights, smooth bore in 14 mm calibre. Fine ornaments chiselled at the breech with a bust of Diana, goddess of the hunt. A gold-lined horseman mark at the root of the barrel. The lock with slightly domed plate, brass-lined vent hole with a double drill hole. Slightly carved full stock in walnut with a light horn nose. The brass furniture with lavish relief decoration. The lock side plate with a recumbent lion amidst tendrils, the thumb plate in the shape of a warrior astride a lion. A warrior figure also on the trigger guard, a horseman above a lion's head mascaron on the butt cap. The number "4" engraved on the trigger guard. The original ramrod with horn tip. Length 44.5 cm. Johann Andreas Kuchenreuter (1716 - 1795), active in Steinweg near Regensburg, was gunsmith to the court of the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis.
