Description

Shinogi zukuri blade, chu-kissaki. Masame hada, suguha hamon. O-suriage nakago with two mekugi-ana, the signature on both sides abbreviated. Gilt copper habaki, in European shirasaya. Tachi mounting of the late Edo period, the brass fittings with floral engraving, mokko-tsuba, same-covered tsuka. Black-lacquered saya with floral gold lacquer décor. Lacquer cracked at the seams, minor defects. Wooden placeholder blade. Blade length K/M 67.3 cm, overall length 96.5 cm. Comes with NBTHK Hozon papers attributing the sword to the Shikkake school.
