A Sino-Tibetan silver-mounted dagger, 19th century

Description

The straight, double-edged blade with double fullers on both sides. Silver ferrule embellished with finely engraved floral décor on a chased background. Green nephrite grip. Wood-lined scabbard in sturdy sheet silver. Scrolling bands on the front with lavish relief decoration of bats, profusely set with small gemstone cabochons (two minor defects), including corals and turquoises. The back with finely engraved décor on a chased background, repeated bat motifs. Two small suspension loops on the side of the locket. Length 49.5 cm.
