Description

The broad, strongly curved blade (wootz?) with a double-edged point and shallow fullers on both sides. Typical iron hilt entirely covered in fine floral gold damascening, partially abraded. The grip rivet underlaid with petal-shaped rosettes. The wooden scabbard covered in violet velvet with unusually ostentatious, heavy mountings in fire-gilt silver. Delicate openwork with floral embellishment on both sides. Length 88.5 cm.
