Description

Slightly curved, single-edged blade in dark wootz-Damascus with fullers on both sides. The obverse with fine calligraphic cartouches inlaid in silver and a depiction of a panther. Iron quillons with delicate, gold-inlaid adornment, partially rubbed, one arm cracked on the reverse. Dark horn grip scales with finely engraved iron rivets. The scabbard covered in shagreen leather with lavish cord decoration on the front. Carrying straps and chape made of iron with gold-inlaid décor (abraded in places), figurative images on the chape. Length 100.5 cm.
