Older Ottoman blade in wootz-Damascus dating from the late 17th century. Double-edged, slightly curved, with offset cutting edges and a raised medial ridge. Chiselled arabesques with remnants of gilding on both sides of the root. The silver grip indented in the middle, deeply etched with fine floral ornaments. A turquoise cabochon on the pommel cap. Wood-lined silver scabbard with floral engraving, the owner's name engraved on one side. Two movable suspension rings on the side with old carrying cord in silver weave still attached.
