Description

The slightly curved, single-edged blade forged in finely figured wootz-Damascus with narrow fullers on both sides. Gold-inlaid leafy vine decoration on the root, a lavishly gold-inlaid calligraphic cartouche on the obverse, ornamental décor on the opposite side. A small perforation at the rear edge of the fullers. Iron grip ferrule and bands with gold-inlaid ornamental décor. The grip scales carved in crystalline walrus ivory, the right-hand one broken. The heavy, partially gilt silver scabbard with a wooden core. Lavishly chased and engraved floral embellishment on both sides. Two Ottoman silver hallmarks and a proof mark struck on the top of the locket. Weight of the scabbard 801 g, overall length 79 cm. Please note: May only be shipped within the EU.
