Typical curved, single-edged blade forged in wootz-Damascus (?) with narrow fullers on both sides. Chased and gold-lined leafy vine decoration at the root. A gold-inlaid, heavily over-polished calligraphic cartouche on the obverse. The back of the blade with a finely chiselled medial ridge. Ferrule, back of the blade and grip frames embellished with delicate gold inlays, partially rubbed. The riveted grip scales in walrus ivory, the right-hand one broken. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with decorative stitching in brass wire. Silver locket decorated with fine filigree and corals. An old replacement on the lower edge. Engraved chape in white bronze.
