Description
Solid blade of triangular section, half blued and etched with partially gilt trophies, plus the seller's name "Steinam & Co Würzburg" and the Eickhorn logo stamped on the reverse. Gilt grip with relief decoration, S-shaped quillons, the guard plate with leaping stags and dark horn grip scales, mounted with decorative rivets. Gold sword knot, interwoven in green, with a crown (reign of the Prince Regent). Black leather scabbard (scuffed) with gilt, lavishly embellished fittings and inserted en suite by-knife (the blade filmed with rust). Length 76 cm. Includes matching black belt with frog, both lavishly embroidered with gold oak leaves. Lined in black leather (completely dried out, rigid and extremely brittle). Silver-plated box lock with appliquéd gold crown and ornamentation. Unusually long, beautifully preserved hunting hanger in virtually untouched condition and of first-class quality.Condition: II + Questions about the lot?
