Description
The elongated, rectangular belt plate with two lateral protrusions, each with two perforations. A U-shaped wire is hooked into the holes at the right end and is missing on the left side. The edge is perforated at the top and bottom for attachment to a textile or leather base. The belt plate with a depiction of three female ibex and one male leaping to the left, hunted by a wild cat on the right-hand side. Rosettes stamped in the interspaces. A small chip on the lower right-hand corner, otherwise complete. In excellent condition with a beautiful, dark green patina. Length (including the U-shaped loops on the right edge) 47 cm, width 5.8 cm.Provenance: Belgian private collection, acquired in the art trade in the Benelux Countries at the beginning of the millennium.
