Five-piece, silver set by jeweler Ernst Menner Stuttgart, each stamped with manufacturer and silver content “935”, to include serving tray, tea pot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, milk jug. Handles and pot lids of dark wood in Art Deco style. Four fine linen napkins with bordered berry & branch motif, embroidered monogram “ER” at one corner. Brown wooden storage box with hinged lid, brass side handles and locking front, paper tag adhered near corner marked “Erwin u. Lucie Rommel”. Inside lined in light-brown cloth, bottom with cut-out depression for storage of individual items, top inside lid with depression and retention clips for tray storage, copper-brown artificial silk pillow protective cover for insertion between tray and pots, jeweler-marked tissue paper. Includes repair invoice dated 1. October 1935 from Ernst Menner Stuttgart to Oberstlt. Erwin Rommel, with Rommel signature of acceptance. Photocopy of 12/27/90 invoice of sale from U.S. antique dealer to consignor.
