Description

Cap body in red wool, black velvet cap band, red piping, celleon chin cords with alternating dark blue cords attached by two gilt finish pebbled buttons. Silver-finish metal eagle and winged wreath, cockade with red cloth insert. Black lacquered visor with brown, checkered underside. Orange-brown oilcloth lining, moisture shield intact with manufacturer mark “Hermann Naubert Erfurt” and size “59” underneath. Brown leather sweatband with small area of damage on left side and owner's name on underside. Metal insignia separated at base of each wing. Moth nips. Exhibits age.
