Description

Rococo mirror in solid, gilt wood, magnificently embellished with garlands, tendrils and volutes. The elaborately openwork top piece features two female figures turned in Michelangelo-style and is crowned by a putto, enthroned dramatically on a jardinière. Dimensions approx. 215 x 125 cm. François Linke (1855 - 1946) is regarded as one of the most significant Parisian ébenistes, or cabinetmakers, of the Rococo or Classicist period. In 1881, Linke opened his own cabinetmaking workshop in the local centre of Paris, which enjoyed long-lasting success. Please note: This item CANNOT be viewed at the offices of Hermann Historica in Grasbrunn (Munich), but is located in Berlin and will be shipped from there.
