Description
The bas-relief made of papier-mâché, depicting an enthroned Madonna and Child. Full of innocence and grace, the mother gazes at the Infant Jesus, who is embracing her and holding on to her robes. The cuffs, with remnants of gilding, and the neckline of the Virgin Mary are lightly chased. In an opulently embellished Renaissance frame, painted in vivid colours, with a strongly profiled cornice. The original paint rubbed, some worm damage overall. Dimensions approx. 66 x 44 cm.Condition: II - III Questions about the lot?
