Description

German Cross in gold in the lightweight design with a cupal plaque, four hollow rivets and inset pin system. The polished pin stamped "20" (= Zimmermann, Pforzheim) underneath. Width 63 mm. Weight 45.1 g. Includes the heavily damaged decorative certificate dated 10 September 1944, congratulory letters, cards and telegrams. Three-piece orders clasp with the Iron Cross 2nd Class, the West Wall Medal and the Anschluss Commemorative Medal 1.10.38, along with the three award documents. Iron Cross 1st Class (indistinct stamp "7") with award document dated 10 March 1944, Luftwaffe Ground Combat Badge in fine zinc with appliquéd eagle in non-ferrous metal and award document dated 6 March 1944. Award document for the Luftwaffe Flak Combat Badge with corresponding Regimental Order dated 11 November 1942 and other certificates. Two Wound Badges in Black and two SA sports badges, one of which painted over with silver bronze, an Army Combat Badge in fine zinc, unsigned, plus other medals/awards belonging to the family. Various insignia as Hauptmann of the Flak with evident signs of wear, his identity tag and a winner's plaque from a chess tournament. His pay book, a duplicate dated 4 May 1945 with passport photograph in uniform, numerous entries including military units, promotions and eight medals. Heavily used, the cover torn, some of the pages loose (15/16 are missing). Approx. 40 photos in varying formats. A file with daily orders and confirmations of aerial victories, a book divided into columns with handwritten notes "Flak nach vorn", a file with typewritten pages "Die Kriegserlebnisse der Batterie", approx. 1939-42, beer newspapers, maps, dictionaries, a service certificate for the SA-Standarte "Feldherrnhalle", an incomplete SA and Standarte calendar for 1941 published by the Zentralverlag, party membership book for 1933, passport and other identity cards, plus a POW document.
