Description
Red cloth with silver braid and silver fringes. Iridescent appliqués with army eagles and the regiment cipher in field-grey cloth and Iron Crosses in black cloth, trimmed with silver tress. The back lined in greyish-green cloth with six leather reinforcements and leather straps on the top (one torn). Severe moth damage, particularly on the back. Length 152 cm, height including fringes approx. 36 cm. The Art. Rgt. Schweidnitz was established on 1 October 1934, renamed Art. Rgt. 8 in 1935 and fought until the end of the war with the 8th Light Infantry Division and from June 1942 in the 8th Jäger Division in Russia.Condition: III - Questions about the lot?
