Description
Rifled, blued, octagonal barrels in Damascus steel (stained in places) in 11 mm calibre. The bores slightly matt with good rifling, signed on the tops. The nipple sockets and tangs with fine tendril engravings and height-adjustable rear sights. En suite engraved percussion locks with blued cock safeties, signed lock plates. The half stocks with beautiful chequering and likewise engraved iron furniture. Ramrods with horn tips. Length of each 38 cm. The case lined in green velvet, the lid glazed with old glass, no hinges. Containing a bullet mould, spring compressor, cleaning rods and ramrods as well as tools (one cracked). Dimensions 46 x 30 x 10 cm. The case was sold for the first time with just one pistol in it at the auction entitled "Sotheby's – Artworks of the Royal House of Hannover, 5 - 15 October 2005" as lot number 3642. The missing pistol subsequently came under the hammer as lot number 258 in the 69th Auction of Hermann Historica, on 3 November 2014.Condition: II - Questions about the lot?
