Octagonal barrels with twelve-groove rifled bores in 12.5 calibre. The upper sides with engraved signature "Fni. par Gastine-Renette à Paris". Engraved tangs with numbers "1" and "2", respectively inlaid in gold. Locks with finely engraved tendrils. Half stocks of walnut wood with fullered butts and finely cut scrollwork. Delicately engraved iron furnitures. Length of each 42.5 cm. In a matching, but not original oakwood case, the lid with band inlays and vacant brass plaque. Lockable, key is enclosed. The interior lined with blue velvet, inside the lid gold-embossed manufacturer's mark. Extensive accessories comprising powder flask, bullet mould, nipple wrench, loading hammer, patch can and cleaning rod (replaced). Dimensions 8 x 50 x 30 cm. Gastine Renette, recorded in Paris as gunsmith as of 1839. Silver medal winner at the Industrial Expositions 1839 and 1844, gunsmith to the courts of the Spanish kings and the French emperor Naoleon III.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
