Description
Octagonal, then round, smooth bore barrels in 17.5 mm calibre with slightly flared muzzles. The roots of both barrels engraved with the barrel maker's monogram "EK". The locks with domed wheel covers and external safety levers. Straight cocks with internal trigger springs, pans with spring-loaded covers around the release button. Iron belt clasps mounted with screws on the opposite side. Iron trigger guards, one guard is missing. Walnut full stocks with elaborate inlays of engraved and blackened bone. The rear stock and the spherical butt end entirely covered with fine spiral inlays composed of shavings and dots. Both pistols with defects on the forearm, one pistol with a damaged inlay on the trigger. Length of each 58 cm. A rare, early pair of wheellock puffers with ostentatious bone inlays. Untouched condition, can easily be improved by cleaning and expert restoration.Provenance: From the estate of a noble South German family.
